On July 1, 2021, the new law on aesthetic surgical procedures and aesthetic injection treatments came into effect in Sweden. This law includes competence requirements for those performing treatments. Only licensed doctors with the appropriate specialist training may perform aesthetic surgical procedures. Only licensed doctors and nurses may perform aesthetic injection treatments such as botox and fillers.
