Smooth out lines and fine wrinkles
Wrinkle treatments use a muscle-relaxing medication to reduce facial lines and wrinkles. Common treatment areas include frown lines between the eyebrows, forehead lines, and crow’s feet. The treatment is not permanent and usually needs to be repeated about three times a year. The aim is to achieve a more refreshed and rested appearance. Muscle relaxants can also be used to achieve a subtle brow lift, lip lift, or to treat downturned corners of the mouth.
Medically, muscle relaxants are also used to treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), migraines, overactive jaw muscles (teeth grinding), and muscle spasms.
Results
Muscle relaxants are used to prevent and treat facial wrinkles. As we age, the skin loses elasticity and becomes more susceptible to wrinkles caused by repeated muscle movements, which tend to become more pronounced over time.
Muscle relaxants are the preferred treatment for wrinkles in the upper face. They can effectively smooth out lines on the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet. A subtle brow lift can also be achieved. In the lower face, muscle relaxants may help reduce smoker’s lines around the mouth and lift downturned corners of the lips.
Results from muscle relaxant injections become visible after just a few days, but for full evaluation, we recommend waiting 10–14 days. The effect typically lasts between three and six months. The result should look natural and not limit your facial expressions.
